FGV and Elsevier held one of the largest international finance conferences in South America

The Brazilian School of Public and Business Administration (FGV EBAPE) in partnership with the publisher Elsevier held the 1st Elsevier Finance Conference on November 16-18, 2023, at FGV EBAPE, in Rio de Janeiro.

The Brazilian School of Public and Business Administration (FGV EBAPE) in partnership with the publisher Elsevier held the 1st Elsevier Finance Conference on November 16-18, 2023, at FGV EBAPE, in Rio de Janeiro. Present at the organization of the conference were: Lianne van der Zant (Elsevier), Samuel A. Vigne (LUISS Roma), Lars Norden (FGV EBAPE, CBFR in Rio and IBEFA), and Ricardo Lopes Cardoso (FGV EBAPE).

 

There were a total of 250 participants at the event. It had academic and political sessions, a workshop on financial technology and digital finance (in partnership with the Central Bank of Brazil), a workshop on women in finance, article development workshops, a discussion with 20 editors from international academic journals , and sessions for advanced articles. There were also several academic sessions on green and climate finance and finance in emerging countries. The conference featured as main speakers: Professor Murillo Campello from Cornell University and visiting professor at FGV EBAPE and Professor Brian Lucey from Trinity College Dublin.

 

There are also opportunities for publications in special editions of Elsevier magazines, such as: Finance Research Letters, International Review of Financial Analysis, International Review of Economics and Finance, Journal of Economics and Business and Research in International Business and Finance, among other partners of the event, they must publish special editions of the meeting.

 

The event's local partners include the National Association of Postgraduate Studies and Research in Administration (ANPAD), the Brazilian Accounting Association, the State University of Rio de Janeiro (UERJ) and the International Association of Banks, Economics and Finance (IBEFA).
